About Me

Hi, I'm Rebekah.

I have a husband, whom I mostly refer to on the blog as "hubs" because he's a much more private person than I am. We have the cutest daughter named Bridget, an Australian Shepherd dog named Delaware, and a cat named Spunky. We live in a town that we both love that is close enough to the water for hubs and close enough to the city for me.

I'm an editor by day, but that doesn't mean I don't make any mistakes. (In fact, I make tons.) It means that when I do, I catch them right away, and they bug me until I fix them. Although I'm detail-oriented, I'm definitely more of a Type B personality. I'm extremely forgetful, but I have a knack for finding whatever my husband needs at any given time.

I'm pretty much obsessed with the color yellow. And the band Hanson. But we fans prefer to call it "dedication." I love road trips, concerts, and amusements parks, but I'm afraid of roller coasters with steep drops (unless I'm in the first three rows) and airplanes. I also don't care for bugs.

I love shopping for affordable clothing and occasionally splurging on less affordable accessories. My favorite places to shop for clothes are New York & Company and Target. I've begun to appreciate the finer things, like designer denim, but I still prefer to buy them on sale.

I wanted to start a blog for years, but I didn't know what my angle would be. I liked the idea of a style blog, but pregnancy nixed that notion for awhile. In general, I wasn't one of those chic pregnant ladies. Once I had Bridget and started to enjoy getting dressed again, I decided to go for it and blog about things I like—fashion, shopping, my family, pop culture, and sometimes food.

The title of the blog came from the children's novel From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler because I loved the book as a child, and I wanted to leave the scope wide open.

So, welcome to the mixed-up files!
