Week Twelve Weigh-in

Current Weight: 194.4 (down 2.8 lb)

I re-weighed myself four times this morning because I didn't believe it. Really though, I was pretty good this week. By the time the weekend hit, I still had 20 weekly points to play with (I start the week with 49 and usually burn through them well before Saturday), but I didn't track points at all Saturday or Sunday.

I feel like these fluke weight drops seem to happen like once a month, so maybe it's just the normal fluctuation of my weight. But I sure do like when they happen. My goal for this week is to maintain and not gain.

Goal/Incentive: Trying for Baby #2 when I hit 175. Hopefully this will happen by September because I'm definitely starting to get a case of baby fever.

Easters Past and Present

Easter to me is family time, decorated hard-boiled eggs, chocolate, cute dresses, and most importantly, "He is risen. He is risen indeed. Hallelujah."

Present Day

This year, we headed to my parents' house as usual. My dad did a sermon about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (typical), and Bridget was a little cherub during church and danced along to all the music. Then we hung out at their house for a bit, had dinner, and went home to finish the night with finally doing our taxes and watching All Dogs Go to Heaven and Ghostbusters. And drinking red wine. I'm so not ready for Monday yet.

Finally got to wear my Jason Wu for Target dress! That's not what hubs wore--he changed right after church.

Orange Penguin

Lace Top: Wet Seal; Cami: Old Navy; Cardigan and Boots: Target; Pants: NY&Co; Belt: from a different shirt; Bracelet: gift

I put a disproportionate amount of thought into this one to participate in Style Imitating Art this week. Here's the artwork Jess picked out.

I knew I wanted to wear a bright orange shirt to match the book spines with black and white for Penguin. After a few colorful accessory changes, I also decided it should be ALL black and white besides the orange. Since Penguin boots are typically (always?) fiction, I thought it was appropriate to add a little bit of whimsy with the bow bracelet.

Oh yeah, and I'm on Instagram now (mixedupbek)!

It's kind of funny that I put so much thought into it but still ended up with my typical go-to work attire — pants, cute top, solid cardigan. In retrospect, I think the belt was overkill, but it kind of goes with the book spine design.

This outfit is from Thursday, but now it's Saturday, and soon I'm off to shop, go see Titanic in 3D (where sobbing will commence, I'm sure), and then head to my parents' for Easter!

wear*it Wednesday: Pastels

Blazer and Cords: Gap; Vest: Talbots via swap; Shirt: vintage DVF via E-Collectique; Shoes: Kohl's; Watch: NY&Co

Unfortunately, I think wear*it Wednesday has run its course here at the Mixed-up Files. There are so many great participation challenge meme things out there, and I haven't yet thought of a way to put a twist on this one and keep it alive. Thank you to Rachel for having the confidence in me to host it, and I'm sorry for killing it! If anyone has a great idea and would like to take the reigns, I bestow it upon you!

Next week will be the last week, and the theme is a printed skirt or dress. Your Easter outfit maybe?

It's been fun! Thanks to those who have submitted to, read, and commented on wear*it Wednesday posts in the past!  For other fun challenges, I encourage you to check out:

Fifteen Month Stats

I forgot to document Bridget's 15-month checkup, so here it is a little late.

Height: 32.5 inches (95th percentile)

Weight: 23 lb 5 oz (50th percentile)

Size: 18–24 months in clothing (depends, some 18 month stuff is starting to get small, but some still fits), 4 in diapers, and 4 in shoes

Teeth: 6 — 4 on top, 2 on the bottom

Food: basically everything we eat with the exception of stuff toddlers shouldn't have like nuts, etc. And she eats more fruits and veggies than we do.

Drink: Mostly whole milk, and some flavored and regular water, too. The occasional juice.

Shots: Had two during this appointment. Just two more — at 18 months and 2 years and then she's done until kindergarten. Phew! Still, shots are not nearly as traumatizing as a blood draw or a chest X-ray, both of which she had to have within the last month.

Milestones:
  • can point out her nose and belly button
  • can use a spoon
  • runs all over the place
  • says "ball (bah)" and "dog (dah)" and "monkey (mah)." Do these words count? I don't know, but she knows what they mean.
  • grabs her coat when she wants to leave
  • knows where to go when it's time to change her diaper or take a bath

Shoe Envy

I have a dentist appointment in a bit, so I have some extra time to blog this morning.

Inspiration picture:

My interpretation:

Dress: Kohl's; Cardigan: Target; Shoes: All Black via (shoo)

Although I like how this outfit turned out, and I don't get to wear these fun blue shoes very often, the shoes I really wanted to wear are these, which I first saw on Jessica.

Payless

Unfortunately, according to the website, the closest Payless store that has them in stock is an hour and a half drive away. I may end up ordering them online at some point and have them sent to a nearby store. They're so cute!

That's about all I have for you today, so in closing, I'll share a couple pictures from this weekend. I had a really chill weekend - scrapbooking with friends Saturday and cleaning and going to the park Sunday.

Check out this playground. Isn't it awesome?

OK, off to the dentist I go. Ugh. Hope your Mondays are less painful than mine!

Week Ten and Eleven Weigh-in

Current Weight: 197.2 (up 1.2 lb)

We decided to skip our Tulsa trip since we have an Orlando trip coming up in August, which means I was able to cheat on my goal of hitting 190 by today. And cheat I did, as you can tell from my weight gain this week. Week Ten, I actually had no change at all. Whoops. This week, it's back on track!

Goal: As of right now, I just have my long-term goal of working on Baby #2 when I hit 175.
