Here I am, taking another stab at print mixing. I liked it when I left the house; but throughout the day, I always wonder if I got it right, or if I look crazy.

Skirt: Jason Wu for Target; T-shirt: J.Crew Factory; Blazer: NY&Co; Boots and Necklace: Kohl's |
In the end, I decided not to belt. The belt made the outfit looked overstyled, I thought, and it didn't help that the red of the necklace didn't match (or even go with) the red of the belt. I liked the preppy-ish belt-less result. The office was relatively warm, so I spent most of the day without the blazer anyway.

You're welcome for the kitty butt. |
My outfit also happened to coincide with the Inspiration Monday picture for 4/30. Here it is:
I really like this outfit. The patterns work together bc you are staying in the same color family and you have just one dominant pattern. Looks cute! I like it w/o the jacket!
ReplyDeleteLove the dots and floral mix - so cute! And thanks for the kitty butt.
ReplyDeleteGood job! Reminds me of Mondo ;)
ReplyDeleteCute look! Nice mix of prints! Loving your skirt!

I think you got it right. The skirt is almost polka dotted, but with flowers as dots. Good choice to not belt too, that was my vote.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely don't look crazy...I love the mix...both pattterns are in the same color family! No need for the belt!
ReplyDeleteYou should so join in to link up to the Two Birds inspiration Monday with this outfit! It made me think instantly of the Emma Watson outfit that's up this Monday!
ReplyDeleteI think the sans belt version was much nicer, I think the belt cut across at the wrong angle of the jacket even though it's a lovely belt! The outfit itself has nice interest anyway, a pretty, understated feminine edged with masculine jacket outfit!
I was thinking that too, Kezzie! The top and skirt do work for the Inspiration Monday pic.
Deletei would have belted, but i really like the look of your outfit with the two patterns, i think it definitely works!
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! I like it with the belt. I think it makes the blazer look more casual and less business-like.
ReplyDeletei love it that you were a step ahead of us! =) i love this outfit on you. the patterns and colors work great together. i also love it with the belt!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great outfit! I love it with the belt. I really like the way you mixed your patterns. And hello to your kitty. :)
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with the pattern mixing. Oh, the boots are a nice touch!
ReplyDeleteHee hee! Good show!
ReplyDeletei like the not to belt best. they were both cute. i also liked the way it looked without the jacket as well. i am admiring your bangs too. :)
