Bright and Windy

Skirt: self-made; Belt: gift; Sandals: NY&Co; Top: The Limited; Bag; MICHAEL Michael Kors; Beverage: Starbucks

My alleyway I was all excited about the other day isn't that great of a spot in the morning on sunny days. It also acts as a wind tunnel. On top of all that, it's definitely not a deserted alley. I had a few close calls today. These pictures almost weren't worth posting, but the belt-skirt-sandal combo looked really good in the spotlight. My yellow polka dot top...not so much.

I went back and took some more pictures after work. Much better! I ended up ditching the belt partway through the day; it just wasn't comfortable when I'm sitting most of the time.

  1. That skirt is beautiful and I love how you styled it. I really loved the belt too but totally understand how it wouldn't be comfortable for sitting all day. That's one of the reasons I usually stick to skinny belts.

  2. Love the skirt. The color is gorgeous and the hemline is so interesting. Very cute!

    1. It's funny you mention that. It used to be a circle skirt, but after time and going through the wash a couple times, the front and back are now a little longer than the sides. Luckily, asymmetrical hemlines are in right now, so it kind of looks intentional.

  4. Sewing tip...always wash and dry (and iron) your fabric prior to sewing. Then things won't shrink.

I love the outfit belted with your genuine leather belt from Italy (for real - thank you Uncle Joe).

    1. I always do! I don't think the sides shrunk; I think the front and back stretched out. I've since learned that it wasn't the best fabric for a circle skirt.

And yes, I do love the belt! Thanks Uncle Joe indeed.
