Today was Bridget's picture day at school, but the morning didn't start off so well. Like every morning, I gave Bridget a little bit of food to hold her over until she got to daycare. She was standing by the couch, watching the cat, eating her mini muffin when suddenly she started choking and gagging. I could tell she was trying to/going to throw up, so I patted her on the back to kind of help her along. Because really, I didn't know what else to do. I grabbed a nearby cloth to catch what was coming out of her mouth. She threw up a few times, and continued to gag and whimper after that. I saw that there was a huge chunk of muffin stuck to the roof of her mouth, and she didn't know how to spit it out. After a few attempts with paper towel and a baby spoon, I got everything out, and all was well. She chugged some water, ate a couple wagon wheels to wash everything down, and then acted like nothing happened. Phewwww. That was not a pleasant way to start the day.
On a materialistic note, somehow she managed not to get anything on her dress or my white top. Not that I would've cared as long as she was OK, but it would have added to the stress of the morning. I'm just glad she wasn't really choking because I don't know if I would've remembered how to do the Heimlich maneuver on a toddler in my panicked state. Must review that.
SO chic in the peplum & tan! Glad Bridget is okay. :)
