A Little Bit of Anthro Shopping

...Because it would just be silly to let my birthday coupon go to waste.

The first thing that piqued my curiosity as I wandered back to the sale section was this regularly priced dog cardigan. I curiously took a closer look to see if the sweater included either of the dog breeds in my life - Australian shepherd or Shiba Inu. Sure enough, there was a Shiba Inu (or maybe an Akita, but close enough) right on the bum. I don't think I could pull off this look, but I hope someone does buy this and wears it on a blog someday. Plus, it's called Pooch Posse. That's awesome.

As for the sale stuff I brought into the dressing room...

Draped Tieback Dress - on sale for $59.95
I'll admit, the only reason I grabbed this dress to try on was that they had it in a large. There's nothing that particularly excited me about it. If it were a bit longer, I would've been more tempted by it especially since it's silk. It wasn't obscenely short at all; I just think it would've looked better on me if it were longer. Plus, I kind of preferred the green color, but they didn't have that one in my size. I see that this dress does get great reviews online if anyone else is interested in it.

Layered Dahlia Top - on sale for $39.95
This top was kind of cool. It had a printed tank top and then a sheer short-sleeve peplum-type layer over top. It was cute, and I considered it for a few minutes, but I didn't feel like I had to have it.

Burst Azalea Chemise - on sale for $39.95
Because I'm a fan of the cutout trend, depending on where the cutout is located, I was intrigued by this dress. I'm not sure if it's the most flattering thing, but I liked it, and it was in my maybe pile for awhile. I didn't like how it was slightly sheer, though. It would need to have a slip or leggings underneath, like how I'm wearing it here. I mean, it is considered lounge wear, so I guess I can't be too mad at it about the sheerness.

Silverfield Sweetheart Dress - on sale for $79.95
This dress reminded me so much of the one I tried and failed at sewing this summer that I had to have it just to redeem myself. Ever since I read Roxy's review of it, I've been kind of casually keeping an eye out for it to go on sale. I vacillated between the red and the blue but ended up getting the blue, which the sales lady confirmed was a good decision.

Tiered Pointelle Sweater Dress - on sale for $49.95
I was pretty sure I was going to hate this dress when I tried it on, but I had to try it because of the color. I should probably stop gravitating toward mustard-y things since that's not the best shade of yellow for me, but I can't help it. Um, I actually kind of liked it even though I know the drop waist is not very flattering on me. However, the lining was really short on me, which would require me to wear leggings with it.

Since I was set on the most expensive dress in my handful, I figured I should probably stop at one purchase, and I only went home with the Silverfield sweetheart dress. What do you think? Did I make the right decision? I still have to bring the coupon in to get the percentage off since I didn't have it with me, so I could still change my mind and pick up something additional. But yeah, pretty set on that lace dress.

  1. The lace dress is definitely the best one. I like the yellow one too though. I think you could pull that one off if you wanted to. But then I have a weakness for all things mustard yellow.

  2. Love the Silverfield dress (loooks great on you!)---I tried it on today in blue, but wound up having them order it for me in the red/pink (I think I was just feeling Valentines-y/like I have too much blue in my closet). It's $40 now, which just feels ridiculous! Having a giftcard may have made me go on a bit of an Anthro spree today...oops.

  3. Nooooo! I should've waited a week. It is a great dress in both colors, that's for sure. I'll have to keep an eye out for yours in Instagram pics!
