Blueberry Waffle Breakfast Sandwich

One thing that always excites me is seeing and then trying new (junk) food. The trying rarely turns out to be as satisfying since I hype it up so much in my head, but it's still fun.

When I saw Dunkin' Donuts commercial for their new blueberry waffle breakfast sandwich, I thought "oh em gee, I MUST HAVE IT!" I'm not a huge sausage fan, as I've mentioned during my last sausage junk food eating endeavor, but this looks like another one of those things that I just want to try to say I did. I mean, look at it!

When I was grabbing this image, I accidentally scrolled down to the nutritional information. Big mistake!

Luckily, I will probably not try this interesting combination of delightful breakfast foods anytime soon since there are so few Dunkin' Donuts in the area. Unlike in New England, where they're EVERYWHERE!!!!!! Seriously, they're more prevalent than McDonald's. It certainly shocked this Midwesterner the first time I was there.

Anyway, if anyone is near a Dunkin and orders this, lemme know how it is! I'd be very curious to know if it's any good and worth a short detour one of these days.

  1. I don't know where the nearest Dunkin' Donuts is. There used to be one that was semi close to my parent's house but I believe it closed down.

This looks really good though. Maybe it would have a similar sweet taste to the pancake like breakfast sandwiches, cannot think of the name, at McDonald's

In any case you could try and make your own if you would really want to know what it is like, and I am sure you could make a much healthier version of it, using Kashi Waffles, Egg Beater eggs, turkey sausage and low fat or fat free cheddar cheese.

Hmmm maybe I will try that...

  2. The problem is I'm really picky with my waffles. I like them crispy, not soft and squishy, so I think the sandwich would be gross if the waffle is soft. Maybe if I try making it with a toaster waffle, I would like it.

By the way, McGriddle is McDonald's equivalent.

Lemme know if you try making a healthy version and how it turns out.
