Dressed Like a Pop Star or Two

Here's the inspiration photo for today:

I don't know why it didn't occur to me that I could wear outfits a day or more before I post them. I knew I wouldn't be able to wear this week's inspiration outfit to work, but it was a great weekend look.

Shirt: William Rast for Target; Cami and Shoes: Kohl's; Jeans: Maurices; Hat: Target

Unfortunately, it didn't end up being weather-appropriate. When I left the house on Saturday, it was mid-40s, which was fine with me. I was debating leaving my jacket at home. I headed to a friend's house for an afternoon of scrapbooking, and we were all shocked/annoyed when we saw snow coming down a few hours later. Boooo.

Originally, when I put this hat on (which I just bought Friday), I felt more Jason Mraz than Gwen Stefani. But both the Starbucks guy and the Taco Bell girl (for breakfast and dinner, respectively, not like I just drove around fishing for compliments) said they liked it, so that was neat.

  3. I like that you added the hat. I do not always think about adding something to a look. You did the whole outfit very well.

  6. I like your take on the outfit and the added touch of the hat! I was also thrilled to figure out I could snap my outfits daily and save them up for later posts. Have you tried scheduling your posts yet? It's a big help to me.

  7. You came very close to the look. I think we are wearing the same shirt. I thought I bought mine at F21 but it could have been target. I was too lazy to check the label.
Love the addition of the fedora.

  9. How did I miss that fabulous William Rast plaid?!? I love it! And with the fedora, it's adds a super-cool element. In fact, Gwen could have upped her outfit with a hat. Just sayin'...

  13. Thanks all! I guess the hat really was a good purchase! I like wearing hats once in awhile, so I'm looking forward to getting a lot more use out of it this spring and summer.

  14. You totally made it work! It's so cute on you. I can't believe you were going to leave the house without a jacket when it's in the 40's. California weather has made me too soft, I'd freeze if it was that cold!

  15. Yeah, pretty much as long as it's sunny and not windy, I'd probably go coatless in as low as 30° weather. But then I'd have a lot more layers on.
