Inspiration...Tuesday?

Even though Inspiration Monday, hosted by Megan and Nora from Two Birds, kicked off yesterday, I thought it was way too windy to participate and decided to join in today instead.  Those two both have a great fashion sense, and they are queens of vintage. I'm always impressed by how they deliberately select ugly clothes from thrift stores and make them look chic and wearable.  Because of this,  I was looking forward to seeing what they would select for their first inspiration photo.

When I saw it, I was even more excited about participating because I knew I had a blue skirt that would work perfectly for this look.  I didn't know what top to wear since I didn't want to wear a graphic tee to work, so I stole Megan's idea of the striped shirt.  Here's my interpretation.

Striped shirt and Cardigan: Old Navy; Skirt: Express; Tights: Target; Shoes: ModCloth; Necklace: Maurices

Dela wanted to join in on the fun, too.

Here's a detail shot of my bib necklace from Maurices.

And finally, an outtake for ya.

  2. Thanks! Aussies are the best! Ours has a tendency to get underfoot (as seen above), but she's a good dog.

  3. Love the skirt! And the necklace totally adds a pop to the outfit. I didn't do the graphic tee, either, for work reasons. I subbed out a plain mauve tee instead.

  7. Thanks ladies! I don't think I would've ever put this outfit together myself, so having the inspiration shot really helped. I don't usually tuck in my shirts, but I'm doing it for the second time today, and it seems to be working.

  10. I really like your take on it. The striped shirt looks great with the blue skirt. Your comments are so funny about two birds. I checked out the "mommy jeans" link. Too funny. I do like their sense of style. I had to raid my grandma's closet for a top for Monday's inspiration! Hope it fits...
