Taking on the 30 for 30 Challenge

Funny story (I don't know if funny's the right word).  Back in 7th grade, I was kind of picked on a lot.  Well, one of these random pickings-on was a boy in my class asking me one time, "Didn't you just wear that?"  It was a simple question, though mean, and I was mortified.  Did I just wear it?  I couldn't remember.  From that day on, I wrote down what I wore EVERY DAY, and I made sure I didn't repeat anything within a two-week span.  I only stopped writing stuff down a few years ago actually, but I still mostly stick to the every two-weeks rule for stuff like tops and dresses.  If only I would've started an outfit-of-the-day blog right then and there, I would've satisfied my paranoid habit and been way ahead of the curve!

Anyway, that's the exact reason why I'd been so hesitant to take up Kendi's 30 for 30 challenge.  I didn't want to have to repeat any items of clothing that many times within one month.  The whole idea makes me nervous and self-conscious, and I haven't even started yet.

But here's the thing.  Laundry gets kind of nutty around here because I don't do it often enough, so we end up having multiple hampers full of clothes, waiting to be cleaned.  No problemo for me because I have an obscene amount of clothes.  I figured this challenge would be a great way to A. cut down on laundry, and thus B. make hubs proud, and also C. try to conquer this stupid insecurity I've had since 7th grade, and as a bonus D. stop spending money I shouldn't be spending.

So anyway, here's the lineup:

6 Pants/Shorts

NY&Co, Old Navy, NY&Co x3, Target

1 Skirt

NY&Co

4 Dresses

Target x2, Kohl's, self-made

13 Tops

Top Row: Express, Anthropologie, NY&Co, Gap, NY&Co, husband's
Bottom Row: Old Navy, H&M, Target, Express, Luci Boutique, Target, Kohl's

2 Cardigans

NY&Co, Old Navy

4 Shoes

Target, Payless, Kohl's x2

  4. I am so proud of you for doing this challenge! Maybe it'll stick and you'll have a much smaller wardrobe and do laundry more often to keep up and have extra time with Bridgey!

  5. Thanks all!

Mrs. T - Yeah, I definitely think when I'm done, I'll be able to overhaul my closet once again and get ride of a lot of stuff. A lot of things I hold on to "just in case," so stuff like that should probably be the first things to go.
